Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the Pregnancy Calculator mobile application and the website at pregnancycalcsmart.com, including all related tools, calculators, and community features.

It covers users who browse without an account, registered members, and staff who access the administrative portal. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Service.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, information generated through your use of the Service, and limited technical data necessary to operate and secure the platform.

• Account information: display name, email address (when you sign in with Google or another supported method), profile photo URL, and community locale preferences.
• Pregnancy and health inputs: dates and values you enter into calculators (such as last menstrual period, due dates, and cycle information) to provide results and optional tracking features.
• Community content: posts, comments, reactions, and display-name choices you submit in community sections (Trying to Conceive and Pregnancy).
• Communications: messages you send through in-app support or website contact forms.
• Device and usage data: app version, device type, operating system, general usage events, crash reports, and push notification tokens when you enable notifications.
• Administrative data (staff only): access credentials and session indicators for authorized moderators and administrators.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely to operate, maintain, and improve the Service. We do not sell your personal information.

• Provide pregnancy calculators, due-date estimates, and related informational tools.
• Authenticate your account and maintain your profile across devices.
• Enable community features, including displaying your posts and comments to other members in your selected locale.
• Moderate community content, enforce community guidelines, and protect members from harmful or abusive behavior.
• Send push notifications you have opted into, such as community replies or important service announcements.
• Respond to support requests and improve the reliability and security of the Service.
• Comply with applicable legal obligations and protect our rights.

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our website uses a minimal set of cookies and similar storage technologies. We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Essential cookies and local storage may be used to keep you signed in and remember your language or community preferences.

A staff-only cookie (pcs_staff) is set only for authorized administrators and moderators accessing the admin portal. This cookie is not used for members or general visitors.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling essential cookies may prevent certain features from working correctly.

5. Third-Party Services

We rely on trusted service providers to deliver core functionality. These providers process data on our behalf under contractual obligations.

Google Firebase: We use Firebase Authentication for sign-in, Cloud Firestore for app and community data, Cloud Storage for profile images and attachments, and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) for push notifications.

Google Sign-In: If you choose to sign in with Google, Google processes your sign-in according to Google's own privacy policy. We receive your name, email address, and profile picture as provided by Google.

Apple Sign-In: If you choose to sign in with Apple, Apple processes your sign-in according to Apple's privacy policy. We may receive your name and email address (including a private relay address if you hide your email). Apple does not provide a profile photo.

We do not share your community posts or pregnancy inputs with third parties for their independent marketing purposes.

6. Community Visibility and Moderation

When you post or comment in the community, your display name, content, and timestamp are visible to other members in the same community locale and section.

Posts and comments may be reviewed automatically or by human moderators for compliance with our community guidelines. Content that violates guidelines may be hidden, removed, or flagged for review.

Moderators and administrators can access member identifiers and content necessary to enforce rules, respond to reports, and maintain a safe community.

You are responsible for the information you choose to share publicly in the community. Avoid posting sensitive personal or medical details you do not wish others to see.

7. Push Notifications

The mobile app may send push notifications if you grant permission on your device.

Notifications may relate to community activity, service updates, or features you have enabled. You can disable push notifications at any time through your device settings or in-app preferences.

We use Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver notifications. Delivery requires storing a device token associated with your account.

8. Data Retention

Pregnancy profile, notes, toolkit entries, and app preferences stored on your device remain until you erase them in Settings, reset your profile, or uninstall the app.

Community account data (display name, posts, comments, profile photo) is kept while your account is active.

Community posts and comments stay visible until you delete them or moderation removes them.

Push notification device tokens are removed when you sign out or delete your account.

Support messages and technical or security logs are retained for up to 90 days, then deleted or anonymized unless law requires longer retention.

After a verified account deletion request, we delete or anonymize personal data within 30 days.

9. How to Delete Your Data

You can delete data directly in the Pregnancy Calculator app:

Uninstalling the app removes local data from your device but does not delete your community account.

Depending on your location, you may also have legal rights to access, correct, or export your personal data.

• On-device pregnancy data: open Settings (gear icon) → tap "Erase profile locally" to remove pregnancy dates, notes, toolkit entries, and local preferences from this device.
• Community posts or comments: open the item you created → tap Delete.
• Sign out: Community → profile menu → Sign out removes the session from this device but keeps your account.
• Account and cloud deletion: open Settings → Privacy & data → Request account deletion by email (or contact us at support@pregnancycalcsmart.com with the email linked to your account). We process verified requests within 30 days.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13 years of age (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction).

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate steps to delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements.

When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you through the app or website.

Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
